What Does the Process Look Like from Start to Finish?
Consultation
A bride will contact me through email or social media, inquiring me about pricing and availability. If interested, the bride will send a deposit and email so I can send a contract and secure the date for the event! We will also work together to create a flexible payment plan that benefits both parties.
Leading Up to Event
The bride and I will communicate the details about the package: what moment does the couple want painted on their special day, and what are the expectations for setup and execution? Some brides prefer the artist to be in a certain place during the reception, while others defer to a wedding planner.
The Day Of!
I will arrive at the venue 1-2 hours before the ceremony to set up my easel and begin painting the background. I will paint through the ceremony (unless otherwise directed) and the reception. Guests are encouraged and welcome to inspect the progress and speak to me both before the ceremony and during the reception: it doesn’t bother me to work and talk, as part of the appeal is the entertainment my service provides.
As the reception winds down, my goal is to have the wedded couple and background complete so the clients can have a photograph in their ceremonial attire; afterwards, I pack up and take the painting home to add detail for a more polished finish.
After the Event
As the couple honeymoons, I finish up the painting! I consider feedback from the client, add details, add a little sparkle if requested, and varnish the piece when the paint is dry and cured. I will discuss a plan of delivery with the client: both pickup and delivery is available.
