About Me!

Born and raised in Meadowview, Virginia, art has always been in my life, ever since I was drawing on cardboard boxes with Sharpies in my parents’ workspaces.

I am a BA graduate in Studio Art from East Tennessee State University with a master’s in education from Emory & Henry University. By day, I am an elementary art educator, so I live and breathe the arts in every facet of my life and livelihood. I like to think of myself as a “Ms. Frizzle” for the arts!

I have been doing live event paintings for the last three years with a focus in weddings: I love dressing up and chatting with guests as I paint up a storm! For even longer, I have been taking on commission work—mostly portraiture.

When it comes to my personal art…

“Though Aria Asbury has never learned how to swim well, her curiosity and desire to explore the depths of nature, namely different marine life, in her work continues to further her conquest for capturing childlike wonder in her latest pieces. As of late, she has also experimented with the concept of self-reflection in a calm, therapeutic setting, which is a state of mind she hopes to achieve. Some of her influences include Agnes Cecile, Claude Monet, and all whale sharks everywhere.”
